Thank you Sassy Times for a great year of fun reading about the "grace in small things" in your life. Merry Christmas

So again here we are another year gone by and it is already Christmas time. I really enjoying this time of year. All the pretty lights, snow and colors of christmas. The one thing I do not enjoy is shopping. I feel I do a pretty good job writing things down durning the year that the family will enjoy but when Christmas eve comes, I feel like I am frogetting something or someone. It is ok, cause I am the only one that feels that way, and after the day it is all but forgotten, until of course the next christmas.
I am wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Most Valuable Rower

Jordan had her "end of the season" crew party last night and coach gave out awards to all the girls.
My girl got "most valuable rower" and "most eager erger" (this is the short name of the rowing machine that Jordan seems to really enjoying doing). I am so proud of Jordan and what she has become. She is a true blessing and wins every award I can give.

Halloween

Last night was Halloween 2009, and I was so excited. I made the girls costumes this year and turned out so darn cute. Carly was a pink crayon and Reese a blue. Every house we went to people loved them, and only one person thought that Reese was a boy (being blue and all). Carly started off geared up but after walking to the first house would not go to the door without me (or Aunt Nikki) and Reese just ran door to door, not really caring if I was there or not. I love seeing the difference that the two of them have so that they grow up with different personalities and we don't have to worry to much of them competing over everything. My brother Andy, his girlfriend Nikki and my handsome nephew Lenon came over to join in on the fun. Baby Lenon was a pirate and even got out a little for some snacks for his mom and dad. John passed out candy but after an hour realized we did not have the normal flow of people. Was it because it was so cold? Because it was on a Saturday? Or are people just not into Halloween anymore. How was everyone else's Halloween? I know we got tons of candy that no one is really going to eat (except Snickers and Reese Peanut Butter Cups) so about Easter time it will be thrown away.

Fun in the sun

Today may have its share of clouds, but I packed up the girls early this afternoon and headed over to my mom's house for a day of fun in the sun. My mom's house if a great place for my kids to play. She has a nice big backyard; a trampoline for the kids to jump on; a powerwheels for the girls to drive; and best of all a nice built in pool. So after lunch, we all got our suits on and out we went. My brother brought his cornhole boards with him so everyone got to play a couple games of cornhole, we swam, drank, talked and just enjoyed each other and the wonderful weather. After a couple hours John came by and joined us. We ended up being there all day, but it was perfect. I love days like today when there is no care in the world and everyone is outside enjoying themselves. I wish everyday could be like this.

O my....

I just realized I have not written about anything much in such a long time, after I swore I was going to try and post everyday. I am not working anymore so what is the deal? Help me! I guess I am in a dry spell and totally need something to write about. My life right now is just pretty simple with nothing major going on. Boring.

People

My biggest pet peeve is when people say they are going to do something or be somewhere at a certain time and are late. This has happened to me twice this week, and I am on major let down right now. First off the night that nephew was born, I was suppose to met my mom at 6:30 to go see the little guy because we had a guy coming to the house at 5:30 to look at the gutted bathroom. John informs me that after this guy leaves he has to go and drop off our taxes. Thinking to myself I knew that it was not going to look good for me meeting up with my mom at 6:30. Well, after a hour of pacing the house, he finally shows up. We go right the bathroom and I tell him what I need him to do, and I can do the minor repairs. By the time we get done talking it is 7:00, luckly John said he would just have his brother come over and get the taxes and I left. But I was irritated because I was running late, and I hate running late.
Tonight it happens again. My girlfriend was suppose to come over and have some drinks with me at 7:00, so I did what I had to do and made sure I was ready. But after an hour I knew she wasn't coming. I don't understand why she didn't call and just say, "hey, I am running late, or I am not coming". Instead I sit here waiting and wondering if everything is ok. She finally called, and we talked a little, but she said she wasn't coming which just irritated me more because I sort of changed all my plans for the night so we could catch up and vent to one another.
All I went from people is a little respect and not to say they are going to do something when deep down inside they don't want to. This friend has done it too many times lately that I am tired of it. And second of all, if you say you are going to be somewhere at a certain time then make sure you are there, and if you are running late or busy with something else give the person a call and tell them you are late. It is really not that hard of a thing to do. Again, RESPECT!

Baby Marlow

So this morning when I woke up I checked my phone and there was a text from my sister in law that her water broke at 12.30 and she was headed to the hospital. Being so excited I called my brother to get the information and to see if there was a new baby in our expanding family. He told me that there was no baby yet, but she was going to be induced this morning because in fact her water did break but she was only dilated to 1 cm. So my day will be a day of waiting for the call and going out to buy the new mom and dad a special gift. I know the day is meant to buy the baby a gift but what about the mom. No one ever brings gifts for them and they are the ones who do all the work and really deserve something special. I will make another blog when my little nephew makes his appearance in this world.

Weather

Ok, what is going on with this weather? I know we live in the midwest and should not really expect to much warm weather. But how can it be so nice one day and the very next day be cold and miserable. Everyone in my house is getting a bad case of cabin fever and I can not take it anymore. They are saying snow tonight. If that happens, I am packin up the car tomorrow and leaving for somewhere warm where my kids can get outside and burn off all the energy that they seem to have all the time. (no not really but wish I could)

Wednesday

Last night was fun until Jordan came home and dropped her phone in the toilet. She ran into her room and decided that using her hair dryer was going to fix it. Well, it didn't. She was in tears and very upset, and so was I. She always has that phone in her hand so I was upset that she could not even go into the restroom and do her thing without the darn thing. I yelled at her when I should not have reacted that way. The whole reason I think I was upset was because this is the third phone she has had in three years. I can't keep buying her new phones. She needs to take better care of them and I give her the benefit of the fact that she is going to responsible and be able to take care of her things.
This morning she woke up and the phone was fine. She keep her bedroom fan on to keep it cool in there. I let her know that I was exteremly sorry for reacting the way I did.
After all that craziness the day was pretty good. Did some running around looking for my new bathroom vanity, sinks, lights, medicine cabinet and floor. I found something different at every store I want to. Now I need to research a little more and make sure I want these things and am getting the best price. At 5.30 I was ready to take Jordan and her friend to the airport to go visit her grandpa for spring break. I decided to call the airport and thank goodness I did because the plan was delayed until 11.15. Originally they were to leave Detroit at 7.15. Again I am so glad I called because we would have been there for hours.
so know I am sitting her waiting for her to call me and tell me she is safely in the sunny state of Flordia.

Sunday / Monday / Tuesday

Sunday: a day filled with just hanging out at home and running around trying to get Jordan all her goods to take to Florida with her. We had John's mom over for dinner and had a nice family time. The girls haven't seen her for over month since she was California with the other family members. They missed her deeply since she would come over and watch them on Monday. They all three sat together, read books and just talked. I love seeing the little ones with her. they love her so much.
Monday: I started off ripping more wallpaper down in the bathroom, and after 2 hours of that I could tell the girls needed to get out of the house, so with the weather not being all that warm I decided to take them to the mall and let them play in the play area that they have. They were so excited and had so much fun. Since they were so good, I took them down to get a cookie and some lemonaid. After the mall we came home and all took naps. Carly had dance so I decided to take Reese with me so again she could get out of the house. I sat and had some really nice talks with a group of the other moms. Monday's are a little crazy with dance, so we always have something quick for dinner, everyone sat down and had fun talks and goofed off for awhile. After showers and books we sat down as a family and watched "dancing with the stars". All and all it was a good fun day.
Tuesday: Today, I have been doing nothing but tearing down the rest of the wallpaper. Took the kids to the sitter so they could play with all the other kids, and I could get this wallpaper thing done. My baby brother brought over a steamer and that was a life savor, because I was using a gel and razor blade and it was taking me forever since there was three layers of it. I finally got it done early this afternoon. The walls are really a mess, but I sanded them down and Andy is hopefully going to come over this weekend and help me texture it. John and I need to go and find a new vanity and double sink. I am very excited with this project. I just hope it turns out they way it is in my head.
After being a week late, the tree guy finally showed up this afternoon to take the horrible tree I have in the middle of my backyard. Now we can finally get the yard in order and have a play area for the girls that won't have me worried.
So far, I feel pretty productive and happy about how this week is turning out. How did I get so lucky.

Long time coming

wow, sure has been a long time since I got on here to write my random thoughts. So my new goal is to start writing everyday or at least try and hope that I get some more followers.
Today I am going to start with these headaches I keep getting. I just don't understand where they are coming from. The morning and afternoon are good, but come evening the pain starts and by bedtime they are so bad I lock myself in my bedroom where there is no light and no noise. I have been taking some major pain killers, but that is not helping. I seriously think something is really wrong. The problem is since I have been laid-off I have no health insurance so I can't really call the doctor to have him help me. I need to get this taken care of before it gets anymore out of hand.
